Blighter radars have been safeguarding vital assets for over a decade. From airports to offshore sites, our reliable, low-maintenance technology ensures early detection of threats on land, at sea or in the air. Helping operators maintain operational continuity and national resilience.

Why Blighter Radars for Critical National Infrastructure Surveillance?

Engineered for resilience, performance, and adaptability, even in the most challenging of environments. Our systems are deployed to support perimeter protection, counter-UAS defence, and all-weather surveillance across a range of infrastructure types.

Helping security teams ensure national resilience against threats

From energy facilities and water treatment centres, to nuclear sites and offshore plants, critical national infrastructure (CNI) is under constant threat from intelligent ground, sea and air attacks.  Blighter provides advanced radar surveillance solutions that form a crucial layer of early detection and situational awareness, allowing operators to detect and respond to threats before they escalate.

Full Situational Awareness

Our electronically scanned radars provide wide-area coverage with no mechanical parts, ensuring 24/7 monitoring of long linear assets, perimeters and approaches.

  • Detect human and vehicle movement up to 32 km away
  • Continuous surveillance, delivering real-time situational awareness
  • Minimal maintenance requirements, up to 250,000 hours MTBF (mean time between failure)

Real World Applications

Airport Radar Surveillance

Airport CZ/RZ Boundary Monitoring

Blighter radars provide airports with instant and continuous measurement of target positions allowing it to be used for both large-area perimeter protection and monitoring of the line between areas of different security ratings (e.g. Controlled Zone/Restricted Zone lines).

Thanks to its long-range detection capability, and wide elevation beam, Blighter radars can be mounted high on remote buildings, which reduces the number of radars required and has huge savings on installation costs because there are no requirements for ground works. Blighter radars excel as part of a multi-layered surveillance solution which could include thermal imagers and long-range cameras.

Securing Oil, Gas and Water Infrastructure

Oil, gas and water pipelines and their facilities are increasingly becoming the targets of terrorists, activists, and criminals. These critical assets demand continuous surveillance across vast and often remote environments.

Blighter’s radars provide persistent, wide-area monitoring of production facilities, which enables focused, high-resolution surveillance along pipeline corridors. Its electronic scanning capability allows for adaptable coverage, even in challenging terrain such as sand dunes or undulating ground.

The low-power requirements of Blighter radars allow it to be operated from solar or other renewable power. High reliability thanks to the solid-state design, means our radars can be installed in remote locations and operated for years at a time with minimal maintenance, with a mean time between failure (MTBF) of up to 250,000 hours.

Trusted by security agencies worldwide, Blighter provides a scalable, resilient solution to safeguard vital energy and water assets.

Enhanced Protection for Nuclear Facilities

Nuclear Power Stations are among the most sensitive and strategically significant assets within a nation’s infrastructure, making them high-value targets for both terrorists and unlawful activist incursions. While most nuclear sites benefit from strong physical barriers and reasonable levels of electronic surveillance, the sheer scale and geographical complexity of these environments can make traditional systems, i.e. multi-camera networks, thermal imaging analytics, and fence-based sensors, prohibitively expensive to deploy and maintain.

Engineered for persistent, wide-area detection, the Blighter radars deliver continuous surveillance across complex terrains, including both land and adjacent water boundaries. Crucially, it also provides simultaneous airspace monitoring, detecting near-ground aerial threats such as drones, which often evade conventional ground-based sensors.
